The LCC Red Devils sputtered in the NWAACC championship game, losing to Clackamas 72-49 in that title tilt. LCC had no answer for tourney MVP Chehales Tapscott, who had 26 points and 21 rebounds. The Devils shot 19-63 from the floor, and were out-rebounded 50-31. Marcus Bell and Jeray Key were named to the tourney’s all-star first team, and Justin Stores was named as Most Inspirational Player. There was some ugliness at halftime, as coach Jim Roffler claims that he was jumped and punched by a Clackamas player during a scuffle outside of the locker room…..The Blazers beat Sacramento for the fifth time in a row, holding on for an 88-81 win last night…..Jason Vargas had a solid outing on the hill, but the Seattle Mariners dropped a Cactus League game to Cleveland, 6-4.
