Cowlitz PUD crews have been dealing with a number of weather-related power outages this morning. The first one hit the industrial area of Kelso at about 2:50 am, affecting 432 customers in the area of Parrott Way, extending south and east to the area of the Longview Wye and Rose Valley Road. A number of commercial and industrial customers are affected, including the Washington State Patrol detachment and KLOG. Repairs on that outage were completed just before 5 am, but then the circuit went down again. They finally got those repairs completed at about 6:30 am. At about 4:50 am, an outage affecting 183 customers in the Chapman Road area north of Castle Rock was reported, and at almost the same time, 230 customers along the Kalama River Road lost power. The Kalama River Road outage was repaired at about 6:35 am, but work continues on the Chapman Road outage. At about 8:45 am, another 200 customers along South Silver Lake Road and Headquarters Road lost power, with repairs completed by 10:15 am. All of the outages are weather-related, caused by the wind blowing tree limbs into overhead lines.
