The Red Canoe Credit Union branch was evacuated for a short time yesterday morning, after employees reported finding a suspicious object near the front doors. At about 8:30 yesterday morning, an employee reported that there was a cylindrical object near the front door, wrapped in duct tape. The building was evacuated through another door, while Kelso Police responded to the scene. They checked the object, and found that it was some sort of foam handle, wrapped in duct tape. They cleared the scene about 15 minutes later, and normal operations resumed.
