Fire crews from Longview and Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue were called out early this morning, after a car fire extended to a neighboring house. The fire was reported at about 5 am, at 1512 North 3rd. Those on the scene reported that a car had caught fire, and within a few minutes, the fire had spread to the house. Firefighters were on the scene in just a few minutes, then a second alarm was called in, bringing in additional resources from Cowlitz 2. It took about a half-hour to get the fire under control, declaring that it was knocked down at 5:30 am. There’s no word yet on the cause or total damage done, but the Red Cross is being called in to assist three adults and a child that were displaced by the fire.
