Chamber CEO Rick Winsman says that this is a way to examine what’s happening in the greater metro area. Both Richards and Gregory presented pretty upbeat reports, focusing on efforts that are going on to upgrade each city. Richards spent time honoring the volunteer efforts that are helping to improve the ”quality of life and quality of place” in the city. He also highlighted recent developments Kelso, including development like Splits, the new Fibre Federal branch, and the upgrade to 3D at the Kelso Theatre Pub. Gregory focused on a “Wellness Check,” talking about efforts to save money in the city’s budget, enhanced public safety, improving the transportation system and infrastructure projects. The Chamber’s next big meeting is planned for December 7th, when they’ll be holding the annual Economic Summit, providing a snapshot of the region’s economic situation.
