Cowlitz County’s updated 911 Center lost power yesterday evening, causing a diversion of emergency calls for about an hour. Laurie Masse with Cowlitz County 911 sent out an alert at 6 pm, reporting that the center’s electricity went completely out for a short period of time, and that it was taking time for the system to re-boot. As per their written protocol, Cowlitz County 911 calls were transferred to Clark County, which then contacted the appropriate agency for a response. Masse says that things were completely back to normal by 7:30 pm. The cause of the power outage hasn’t been disclosed.
