ASLCC Lecture

Posted on 2nd May 2013 at 15:53

The Associated Students of LCC continue a series of monthly events from the Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau, bringing “Bill” Woodward in for a lecture titled “Coming Home: Baseball America.” Woodward says that this will be a conversation about “baseball’s grip on America, using metaphors of hope and homecoming to trace the history of the game and our nation.” Woodward says that baseball has been a surprisingly innovative engine of social change in America, and he says that this program will prompt a discussion on how baseball is emblematic of American culture. The free lecture starts at noon in the Diversity-Equity Room on the second floor of the LCC Student Center, and it is open to the public.
