The investigation is continuing into the shooting death of a man in British Columbia, who apparently is a Cowlitz County resident. The Houston, BC, detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police reports that a 59 year-old Washington state resident was killed on Monday, while bear hunting with guides in an area about 60 miles south of the small town in northern British Columbia. Few details are being released at this time, including the victim’s name. It has been learned that an emergency notification was made to a home in the Toutle area. The man was the lone hunter with at least two guides. RCMP Sergeant Stephen Rose says that they don’t know if any criminal acts have taken place as of yet. He says that all involved in the incident are cooperating fully. He also says that the victim’s family has been notified, but the victim’s name and home town have not yet been released. Updates on the investigation are expected within the next 48 hours or so.
