The Southwest Washington Blood Program is conducting a blood drive today, going from 12:30 to 6:30 pm this afternoon at the Beacon Hill Baptist Church. The non-profit organization provides blood and blood products to hospitals throughout Western Washington, including Saint John Medical Center and Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. All types of blood are needed, with a daily demand of 14,000 pints at all of the facilities through the region. Blood Program officials say that there is a special need for several types of blood, including O Positive, O Negative and B Negative. You can make an appointment to donate by calling 423-0385.
