No injuries were reported in a boat mishap reported yesterday morning, just downstream from Merwin Dam. Shortly before 2 pm, a call came in from Slayden Construction, reporting that an 18-foot pontoon boat carrying four workers had capsized on the river. Company officials say that all four men were thrown into the water, but all four also escaped unhurt. They reported that the boat was floating upside down in the river, with the fuel tank for the outboard motor floating next to the craft. It was noted that the tank was still attached by a hose, and that there didn’t seem to be any spill. The company was making arrangements to recover the boat; they didn’t talk about what caused the boat to capsize.
