Public groups who are raising concerns about a proposed 500-kilovolt BPA transmission line between Castle Rock and Troutdale are planning a protest rally today in Vancouver. At least three separate groups are involved in today’s event, which is planned for 11 am at the BPA’s offices next to the Vancouver Mall. Organizers say that they have several purposes for today’s rally, working to educate the community, and to present concerns from property owners in the potential path of the power line. Organizers say that they have legitimate concerns over health-related issues and property values. They say that a protest song has been specifically written for this event, and a “sing-along” is planned. This morning’s rally is set to begin at 11 am at 7600 Northeast 41st in Vancouver.
