Brian Brush, 48, of Roseburg, Oregon is pleading not guilty to charges of first-degree premeditated murder with a gun, entering the plea in Pacific County Superior Court in connection with last September’s shooting death of Lisa Bonney, 45, of Long Beach. The Daily News reports on the court hearing involving Brush; he accused of shooting Bonney on September 11th of last year, using a shotgun just off of the boardwalk in Long Beach, during the End of the World Rod Run event. Dozens of people were in the area at the time of the shooting, which took place in the middle of the day. A number of competency evaluations had delayed the processing of the case. Brush had been found incompetent to stand trial in March; after additional treatment at Western State Hospital, he was finally found to be mentally competent. Brush is currently in custody at the Shelton Corrections Center; his trial is currently set for November 9th.
