Codey Jay Miller, 20, of Woodland is under arrest, picked up in connection with a school bus arson that was reported last July. Today’s Daily News reports on Miller’s arrest; on July 27th of last year, a bus was torched at the Woodland School Bus Barn. About two weeks ago, the Sheriff’s Office got an anonymous tip, saying that Miller and another man, Timothy Rose, 19, of Woodland, were involved in the fire. Deputies say that the caller claimed that he’d received a “drunk dial” from Miller, who was laughing and saying that he’d just burned a bus. As Deputies followed up, a second witness claimed that Miller had a video of the fire, and was showing it to other people. Rose was brought in for an interview on the 23rd, as he was serving a 10-day jail sentence on an unrelated burglary charge. They say that Miller had sprayed the inside of the bus with a fire extinguisher before he set a “mouse nest” on fire underneath a seat on the bus. The fire spread and did about $125,000 damage to the year-old bus. Miller was arrested last Friday, and is now being held for suspicion of second-degree arson. Initial bail has been set at $20,000. At this point, Rose hasn’t been charged in connection with the fire.
