Cardboard Pickup

Posted on 8th May 2013 at 15:45

It’s time to fire up the Bat-Computer and activate the Fortress of Solitude, getting those designs prepped for this year’s Longview Cardboard Boat Regatta, with the first cardboard pickup for this year’s race now planned for this Saturday. Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging is once again providing the raw material for the Regatta fleet free of charge, and this material will be distributed this Saturday, in the old Sears building at the Three Rivers Mall. The 3.5′ x 8′ cardboard sheets will be available for pickup from 10 am until 2 pm on Saturday on the parking lot side of the building, at the delivery entrance. You’re advised to wear gloves to cut down on paper cuts, and have tarps, rope and bungee cords to tie down your load. The theme for the 5th annual Cardboard Boat Regatta is also being announced as “Super Heroes.” So, channel your inner Aquaman, Submariner and Daredevil, and get things going for the Longview Cardboard Boat Regatta, coming up on Tuesday, July 2nd as part of this year’s Go 4th Celebration. Get more information by calling KLOG-KUKN and The Wave at 636-0110, or check the regatta Facebook page @Longview Cardboard Boat Regatta
