Local residents were reporting that Hall Road turned into a “freeway” yesterday as drivers tried to go around the pavement repair work on I-5 northbound at milepost 46; the traffic problems caused by that work should be miniscule compared to the backups that could happen as I-5 is completely shut down for the weekend at Salmon Creek. The Washington Department of Transportation is closing the freeway for the placement of bridge girders connected to the Northwest 139th interchange project. The shutdown starts at 11 pm tonight, and will continue until 5 am on Monday. Traffic will be detoured onto I-205 and SR 500 in Vancouver. If you’re needing to head that directions, you are strongly advised to plan ahead, look for alternate routes, and budget plenty of time to get where you’re going.
