Long in a pair of Civil War contests today. The Jills and Monarchs meet in soccer at 4 pm at Northlake, while the volleyball teams tangle at the MM Gym at 7 pm.
It’s going to be wet for the District cross country and boys golf events today. The Kelso teams will take part in the 3A District cross country meet at Lewisville Park. Mint Valley hosts the two-day 2A boys golf District starting today including R.A. Long and Mark Morris…..The LCC volleyball team hosts Green River tonight at 7 pm at MM…..RAL defeated Hudson’s Bay 3-0 in prep volleyball. Ridgefield defeated MM 3-1…..The LCC women’s soccer team dropped a 3-2 game at the Linfield JV’s yesterday…..In prep soccer, Kelso and Black Hills tied 3-3, RAL shutout Bay 2-0 and Ridgefield blanked MM 2-0…..The Giants got a great pitching performance from Madison Bumgarner in a 7-1 win over the Royals in game one of the World Series. The R.A. Long Lumberjills came up with a big win over Woodland 3-1 in prep volleyball last night. Natalie Wallace led the way with 17 kills. Both teams are 6-3 in league play. Also last night, Kelso defeated Black Hills 3-0. Tonight, RAL travels to Bay and Mark Morris is at Ridgefield…..In girls soccer today, Kelso is at Black Hills (5 pm), R.A. The Seahawks lost for the second straight game as the St. Louis Rams held on for a 28-26 win on Sunday. The Hawks outgained the Rams 463 to 272, but special team gaffes led to the Hawks slipping to 3-3 on the season heading into a game at Carolina on Sunday.
