The Blazers are looking for a ninth straight win when they take on the Hornets in Charlotte today, KLOG 3:05 pm…..It’s a battle of the Bulldogs tonight at the NIT in New York City. Gonzaga takes on Georgia at 6:30 pm. Also tonight, Oregon State takes on Auburn. Last night VCU defeated Oregon 77-63…..College basketball hits Longview on Black Friday as the Red Devil Classic gets underway at 1 pm at the Mark Morris Gym. The host LCC Red Devils take on Olympic at 8 pm Friday night…..The Oregon Ducks remain at #2 as the latest College Football Playoffs rankings were released last night, unchanged from last week…..The Seahawks have one more day of preparation for tomorrow night’s game at the 49’ers. Kickoff is at 5:30 pm.

The Portland Trail Blazers have won eight-in-a-row after a 114-104 victory over the winless Philadelphia 76’ers. LaMarcus Aldridge led the way with 33 points. The Blazers are at Charlotte tomorrow…..The Eastern Washington Eagles shocked the Indiana Hoosiers 88-86 in college basketball last night. EWU went on a late 9-0 run to stun the Hoosiers. Also, Michigan defeated Oregon 70-63 and Oklahoma State downed Oregon State 66-53…..The Pop Warner regional football champions Junior Hilanders are in fund raising mode for their trip to Orlando and the Pop Warner Super Bowl Series. The team will gather Monday at Butler Acres to watch the Super Bowl selection show on ESPN3…..Mariner 3rd baseman Kyle Seager agrees to a seven-year, $100 million contract.

The local Jr. Hilanders Pop Warner football team shutout San Jose, CA 21-0 yesterday in Cheney to take the Regional championship. The Jr. Hilanders qualify for the Pop Warner Super Bowl Series in Orland Florida December 6th…..The Seahawks regained some swagger and beat the Arizona Cardinals 19-3 yesterday. The Hawks take on the 49’ers on Thanksgiving night…..The Trail Blazers have won seven straight after rallying to down the Celtics in Boston 94-88. Portland is at winless Philadelphia later today, KLOG 3:05 pm…..The Huskies beat Pacific 76-69 at Key Arena last night…..The LCC men opened the season Saturday with an 89-76 win over Lane. The LCC women lost to Columbia Basin 103-97 in OT…..Toledo takes on Napavine in the 2B football semi’s Friday at 4 pm

The LCC women are in Pasco for a 6 pm game against Columbia Basin Saturday…..The Huskies take on Seattle U. in men’s hoops tonight at Key Arena…..The Toledo Indians go up against North Beach in the 2B football playoffs tomorrow, 1 pm at Centralia HS…..Oregon State and Washington meet in a Pac-12 football night game tomorrow at Husky Stadium, KLOG 6:30 pm. The WSU Cougars are at Arizona State tomorrow…..The Buff Puff fund-raiser boys volleyball showdown between R.A. Long and Mark Morris is Saturday night, 7 pm at the MM Gym.

Gonzaga blew out St. Joseph’s 94-42 in NIT Season Tip Off action last night. The Zags are 3-0 and have yet to give up more than 58 points in a game this season…..The Trail Blazers have another night off tonight before they host the Chicago Bulls tomorrow night. The Bulls play at Sacramento tonight…..Duke plays North Carolina in college football tonight, KLOG 3:30 pm…..Jamilee Iddings of Kelso celebrated her signing with NAIA Masters College of California earlier this morning at Kelso HS. Iddings will play basketball for Masters…..The NFL fined Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch $50,000 for violating the leagues media policy. Lynch failed to be available for interviews following the Hawks game at KC…..In prep bowling, Kelso beat Heritage, Union over RAL and Skyview defeated MM.

Alabama jumped over the Ducks into the top spot in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Oregon is at #2, Florida State #3 and Mississippi State drops to #4…..Blazer guard C.J. McCollum will miss about a month due to a fractured finger. The Blazers host the Bulls Friday night…..The Seahawks signed center Lemuel Jeanpierre after Max Unger was ruled out for three weeks with a high ankle sprain…..The Mariners have hired Pat Listach to take over as manager of the AAA Tacoma Rainiers…..In prep bowling today, Kelso hosts Heritage and R.A. Long hosts Union, both at the Triangle Bowl. Mark Morris will compete with Skyview at the Crosley Lanes in Vancouver…..It’s an epic boys volleyball showdown Saturday night as RAL takes on MM in the Buff Puff fundraiser at 7 pm.

The Blazers rallied in the 4th quarter to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 102-93. Portland has won five straight…..Gonzaga defeated SMU 72-56 in college hoops. Also, TCU beat Washington State 81-54 and Oregon downed Detroit 83-66…..The prep girls bowling season opened with Kelso over Camas 1,764-1,606. Iris West had a 305 series. Skyview beat R.A. Long 1,836-1,807…..The Seahawks will be without center Max Unger for 3 to 4 weeks due to a high ankle sprain…..The kickoff for Toledo’s prep football playoff has been set for 1 pm Saturday at Centralia HS…..The LCC Athletics Spaghetti Feed is tonight, 5 pm at the LCC Student Center. It’s a chance to meet the players and hear from the coaches. The meal is free for Booster Club members, $7 for non-members.

The Seahawks fell to 6-4 and three games behind Arizona in the NFC West after a 24-20 loss at Kansas City Sunday. The Hawks will host the Cardinals on Sunday…..Wahkiakum was the top local team at the various State volleyball tournaments. The Mules took second after dropping the championship match to Colfax…..The high school basketball and wrestling practice sessions begin today…..The LCC men’s basketball team closed out the pre-season scrimmages with an OT victory over the Seattle Mountaineers yesterday. The Devils host Lane at 2 pm this Saturday in the season opener…..Toledo beat Concrete 65-40 in the 2B prep football playoffs Saturday. The Indians take on North Beach in the next round…..The Blazers host the New Orleans Pelicans tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm.

The State volleyball tournaments are underway in Tacoma and Yakima. Woodland, Kalama, Wahkiakum, Naselle and Three Rivers are all vying for a deep run through the bracket…..The State girls swim championships also begin today at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way…..The Toledo Indians have a Saturday football playoff with Concrete. Kickoff is 1:30 pm at Sedro Wooley…..The Huskies are in Tucson for a battle with Arizona tomorrow, KLOG 11:30 am…..It’s going to be cold for the Seahawks game at Kansas City on Sunday…..The LCC volleyball team will close out the season tonight against Tacoma, 7 pm at the MM Gym…..LCC infielder Michael Forgione has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Portland following his LCC sophomore season this spring.

The Blazers scored 84 points in the first half and went on to blow out the Nuggets in Denver 130-113. Damian Lillard led the way with 27 points. Portland hosts the Brooklyn Nets Saturday night…..More bad news on the injury front for the Seahawks as tight end Zach Miller has been placed on season-ending injury reserve with a bad ankle…..Mark Morris twins Karley and Kourtney Eaton made it official yesterday, signing a national letter of intent to play basketball at Cal-Davis…..LCC pitcher Tanner Olson signed his letter of intent to play for Sacramento State beginning next fall…..The LCC volleyball team rallied from two sets down to beat Centralia 3-2 last night. The Devils close out the season Friday night at home against Tacoma.
