The Texas Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 5-0 last night. It’s a big pitching matchup tonight as Felix Hernandez goes up opposite Yu Darvish, KLOG 4:00 pm…..The Blazers close out the regular season with a home game against the L.A. Clippers, 6:35 pm on FM 101.5 The Wave…..In prep baseball, Kelso beat Bay 13-1, R.A. Long over Ridgefield 7-2 and Mark Morris defeated Washougal 11-1. Today, Kelso is at Prairie and Ridgefield visits MM…..Union downed Kelso 3-1 in softball. The Lassies visits Battle Ground today while RAL is at Hockinson and MM at Rainier…..In girls tennis today, RAL is at MM and River at Kelso. Fort beat Kelso yesterday 4-2…..The Kelso boys beat River in track, while the Lassies lost to River. Hockinson swept the MM teams and RAL boys beat Ridgefield.

The Mariners opened a four game series at Texas with a 7-1 win over the Rangers. Roenis Elias came up with his first MLB victory. The teams play again today, KLOG 4:00 pm…..Hayden Gillen had five hits and seven RBI’s to lead Kelso to an 18-9 win over Hudson’s Bay. The Scots host the Eagles today at 4 pm. Also today, Ridgefield is at R.A. Long and Mark Morris at Washougal…..In softball, RAL beat Washougal 11-1 and Ridgefield over MM 11-1. The Kelso Lassies host Union today at 4 pm…..In 3:30 pm track action today, Columbia River is at Kelso, Hockinson at MM and Ridgefield at RAL…..In boys soccer, Kelso is at River at 4 pm and MM visits Hockinson tonight at 7 pm…..In girls tennis, MM blanked Heritage 6-0. Today Kelso at Fort at 3:30 pm.

The Blazers and Warriors traded punches last night before Portland came away with a 119-117 overtime win. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 26 to led the Blazers. Stephan Curry had 47 for Golden State…..Yoenis Cespedes hit a two-run homer to lead the Oakland A’s to a 3-0 win over Seattle. The Mariners play at Texas tonight, KLOG 4:00 pm…..The LCC baseball team swept a four game series over Green River this past weekend. Sunday the Devils beat the Gators 11-0 and 9-0. LCC is now 9-1 in league play…..The Kelso baseball team plays at Hudson’s Bay today at 4 pm…..The LCC softball team won three of four games at the Skagit Cross Over in Mt. Vernon over the weekend…..In prep softball today, R.A. Long hosts Washougal and Mark Morris is at Ridgefield.

Long defeated Woodland 4-3 and MM downed Clatskanie 12-6…..The LCC softball team heads to Mt. Vernon for the Skagit Valley Cross Over Saturday and Sunday…..It’s a Civil War matchup in boys soccer today as Mark Morris hosts R.A. Long, 5 pm at Northlake Field…..Washougal and MM compete in girls golf at the Longview Country Club at 3:30 pm…..The Trail Blazers play the final road game of the regular season tonight against the Utah Jazz, 5:05 pm on FM 101.5 The Wave.

Dorell Wright hit a 3-ponter with 7.9 seconds left to give the Trail Blazers a 100-99 win over the Sacramento Kings. The Blazers have won six of their past seven games…..Garret Richards and two relievers allowed just one hit to lead the Angels to a 2-0 win over the Mariners. The M’s have tonight off…..In college softball, Chemeketa came to Kelso and swept LCC 1-0 and 11-3. The Devils will try and regroup at the Skagit tournament in Mt. Vernon this weekend…..In prep softball today, R.A. Long is at Woodland and Mark Morris at Clatskanie…..In prep baseball, Washougal visits RAL and Tumwater is at MM…..Alonzo Hernandez scored two goals in the final six minutes to get the Jacks into OT, then Colton Willie’s PK in the second OT gave RAL a 3-2 win over Washougal.

Long in the Civil War baseball game at Story Field last night…..In prep softball, Bailey Ellis got the win and had three hits in Kelso’s 10-0 win over Mark Morris…..The LCC softball team has a key home double header today against Chemeketa. The first game at Tam O’Shanter begins at 3 pm…..MM beat Kelso 2-1 in boys soccer…..The Monarchs downed Kelso 5-1 in girls tennis…..The Kelso girls golf team downed MM 214-236…..The Blazers host the Sacramento Kings tonight, 6:05 pm on FM 101.5 The Wave.

Connecticut beat Kentucky 60-54 for the NCAA men’s basketball title. The UConn women hope to do the same tonight as they play Notre Dame for the title…..The LCC softball team swept past Clark 9-1 and 10-0 yesterday as pitchers Amber Gilbert and Ju Ju Breidt got the wins with plenty of offensive support. The Devils host Chemeketa tomorrow at 3 pm…..In prep softball today, Kelso hosts Mark Morris at 4 pm…..The LCC baseball team split two games at Centralia yesterday, winning 11-1 and losing 7-3. The Devils take four of five games from Centralia…..Story Field at LCC will host the Civil War baseball game tonight as Mark Morris takes on R.A. Long. First pitch at 6 pm…..The Kelso boys soccer team hosts MM at 4 pm today…..MM is at Kelso in girls tennis and girls golf today.

Kentucky and Connecticut meet for the NCAA men’s basketball title tonight. Undefeated Notre Dame and unbeaten UConn will meet for the women’s title tomorrow night…..The Blazers clinched a playoff spot with a 100-94 win over the Pelicans last night. LaMarcus Aldridge had 25 points and 18 rebounds…..Oakland beat Seattle 6-3 in MLB action Sunday. The M’s home opener is tomorrow night against the Angels…..LCC took two from Centralia 11-0 and 6-5 in college baseball Sunday. Centralia hosts the Devils for two games today at 1 pm…..The LCC softball team is at home today for two games with Clark starting at 3 pm. The action is at Tam O’Shanter Park in Kelso…..The R.A. Long girls tennis team is at home against Washougal today at 4 pm.

Coco Crisp hit a walk-off HR in the 12th inning to send the M’s down to their first defeat of the year, 3-2 to the Oakland A’s. The second game of the four-game series will have Chris Young making his first start as a Mariner, KLOG coverage at 6 pm…..Wahkiakum’s baseball team split a pair with #1-ranked Adna, 1-17 and 7-5, but the softball team was crushed, 20-0 and 19-0, both 3-inning games…..After a couple of days off, the Portland Trail Blazers get back into action tonight, heading down to Arizona to take on the Phoenix Suns tonight. There are only six games left in the regular season, with Portland only one game behind 4th-place Houston…..The Seahawks are holding a press conference today, where they’re expected to announce a contract extension for coach Pete Carroll.

The M’s are still undefeated in the 2014 campaign, sweeping the first three games from the LA Angels with an 8-2 win. James Paxton went seven innings, giving up just two hits, while Robinson Cano had his first RBI as a Mariner. Three others also hit HR’s. Seattle opens a 4-game series tonight in Oakland, KLOG coverage at 6 pm…..The Lady Devils swept Pierce 12-4 and 13-5 yesterday, with seven-run innings highlighting each game. Ku Siolo had round-trippers in each game; Amber Gilbert had a complete game-win in the first tilt, also going 2-4 with a 3-run HR…..The Kelso Hilanders finished the Anaheim Lions tourney with a 3-1-1 record, finishing up play with a 3-2 win over Orange HS. Taylor Parsons had 4K’s in 6 innings, while Sacha Jabusch hit a home run.
