Chris Sale won his AL leading 13th game as the Boston Red Sox blanked the Seattle Mariners 4-0 yesterday. The M’s have today off before hosting the New York Mets for three starting tomorrow night…..Bellingham defeated Cowlitz 5-1 in West Coast League action last night. The Black Bears will try and avoid the sweep tonight at 6:35 pm…..Kelso defeated Columbia Basin 12-2 last night to go 2-0 at the Babe Ruth 15 Regional at Rister Stadium. Tanner Davis had four RBI to lead the way. Kelso plays East Portland tonight at 7 pm. Also, KWRL blanked Riverton Wyoming 5-0. KWRL plays Glacier Montana at 1 pm this afternoon…..The Pac-12 media picked Washington and USC to win their respective divisions this football season. USC was the selection to win the overall Pac-12 title.

The Mariners scored two runs in the bottom of the 13th inning to beat the Boston Red Sox just after midnight. Jean Segura drove in the game winner with an infield single. The teams play a day game today, KLOG 11:30 am…..The Bellingham Bells defeated the Cowlitz Black Bears 14-5 last night. The teams meet again tonight in Bellingham at 6:35 pm…..The Kelso All-Stars romped over Kuna, Idaho 10-0 yesterday at the Babe Ruth 15 Regional at Rister Stadium. Kelso will take on Columbia Basin at 7 pm tonight. The action begins at 10 am today with four games on the slate…..The Portland Trail Blazers traded Alan Crabbe to the New Jersey Nets for Andrew Nicholson. Nicholson is expected to be waived to help Portland better manage its salary cap for this season.

James Paxton gave up just four singles in seven dominant innings as the Mariners shutout the Boston Red Sox 4-0 last night. The teams play again with Felix Hernandez on the mound for Seattle, KLOG 6:00 pm…..The Cowlitz Black Bears completed a three game sweep of Walla Walla with a 2-1 victory last night. Kelso native Cobi Johnson pitched seven excellent innings. The Bears are at Bellingham tonight…..The Spokane Cannons eliminated Hilander Dental 2-1 at the State Senior Legion tournament yesterday. HD ends the season at 20-18…..The Babe Ruth 15-year-old Regional to9urnament continues today at Rister Stadium. The host Kelso team had the bye yesterday and they open today at 4 pm against Kuna, Idaho. KWRL dropped its opener 12-6 to Calgary, Alberta.

The New York Yankees took three of four games from Seattle over the weekend. The Yanks beat Seattle 6-4 on Sunday. The Boston Red Sox visit for three starting tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..Cowlitz beat Walla Walla 4-2 yesterday in WCL action. The Black Bears have won six straight series. They go for the sweep over Walla Walla tonight, 6:35 pm at Story Field…..Action is underway at the Babe Ruth 15-year-old Pacific Northwest Regional in Kelso. There are games today at 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm. The host Kelso team opens play tomorrow night at 7 pm against Kuna, Idaho…..Hilander Dental stayed alive at the Senior Legion State in Spokane with a 6-0 win over Gonzaga Prep yesterday. HD plays a loser out game today at 1 pm against the Spokane Cannons.

James Paxton shut down the Houston Astros yesterday, as the Mariners get a 4-1 win to close out this road trip. Paxton struck out seven and gave up six hits in the game, which is his fourth win in a row. Seattle comes home to Safeco Field to open a four-game set against the NY Yankees, KLOG coverage started at 6 pm……Coming back from the All-Star break, the Cowlitz Black Bears apparently left their bats at home, picking up only four singles in last night’s loss to the Port Angeles Lefties. The two teams meet again tonight up in Port Angeles…..Hilander Dental finished the regular American Legion season on a high note, picking up a come-from-behind 6-4 win over Camas last night. Hilander Dental now heads to state, which starts this weekend at Shadle Park HS in Spokane.

The Mariners outlasted the Houston Astros 9-7 last night for a fifth win in a row. Kyle Seager and Danny Valencia hit back-to-back homers in the top of the 10th inning to provide the winning margin. Nelson Cruz and Mike Zunino also hit homers. The teams play again tonight, KLOG 4:00 pm…..The West Coast League Al Star Game is tonight in Yakima. Last night Bellingham Bells player Chase Illig won the WCL Home Run Derby…..In junior legion action, Nipp’s Burgers beat Capital 18-8 and 8-5 yesterday at Roy Morse Park. Nipp’s qualifies for the Junior Legion State tournament beginning Saturday in Bellingham…..The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 110-98 to take the NBA Las Vegas Summer League title last night. Caleb Swanigan had 25 for Portland.

Nelson Cruz hit a homer in the top of the 10th inning to give the Mariners an 7-6 victory over the White Sox. The M’s sweep the three game set in Chicago and move on to Houston to play the Astros tonight, KLOG 4:00 pm…..The Cowlitz Black Bears defeated the Gresham Greywolves 6-2 yesterday at Story Field, taking two of the three games. Devlin Granberg of Cowlitz will take part in tonight’s WCL Homerun Derby in Yakima…..Camas beat KWRL 11-10 in the title game of the Babe Ruth 15 State tournament. Both teams advance to the Regional hosted by Kelso beginning on Monday. KWRL beat Kelso 7-2 in the title game of the 14 State in Richland. KWRL goes to the Regional in Calgary…..Jordan Burns won the Columbia Ford Invite at Mint Valley with an even par 142.

Cowlitz plays host the Gresham tonight at 6:35 pm…..Host Longview was eliminated at the Babe Ruth 15 State tournament at Roy Morse Park yesterday. KWRL faces a loser out game at 6 pm tonight…..The Grants Pass Nuggets beat Hilander Dental 4-2 in Senior Legion baseball yesterday. HD host Camas tomorrow night in a 6 pm game at Rister Stadium…..The 41st Columbia Ford Amateur Open golf tournament is underway at Mint Valley. Ian Dahl is back to defend his title. The action concludes on Saturday.

The Bears go for the sweep tonight at 7:05 pm…..The Medford Mustangs downed the Hilander Dental Legion team 5-1 yesterday. HD plays at Grants Pass today at 12 pm…..Longview faces a must win at 12:30 pm today as they take on Twin Cities at the Babe Ruth 15-year-old State tournament at Roy Morse Park. Yesterday KWRL beat Lower Valley 14-4. KWRL plays Camas in the winners bracket today at 6:00 pm…..The Blazers beat Chicago 88-76 in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League yesterday. Portland plays Toronto tonight at 7 pm.

Robinson Cano hit a solo homer in the top of the 10th inning to give the American League a 2-1 victory over the National League in the All Star Game in Miami. Cano was named the game MVP. HD plays two at Medford today…..At the Babe Ruth 15 State at Roy Morse, KWRL beat Twin Cities 5-3 and Grays Harbor over Longview 18-8. Two games today beginning at 3:15 pm.
