Oregon State scored eight runs in the final two innings to beat North Carolina 11-6 at the College World Series in Omaha. The Beavers take on Mississippi State at 12 noon Friday in another elimination game…..The Yankees rallied from down 5-0 to beat the Mariners 7-5 last night. Giancarlo Stanton’s walk-off, two-run homer was the game winner. The M’s and Yanks are playing a day game today…..Bellingham is on a seven game winning streak after rallying to beat the Cowlitz Black Bears 7-4 last night. The Black Bears will try and snap a five game losing streak in the 6:35 pm series final tonight at Story Field…..The Hilander Dental senior legion team rallied from down 6-1 to tie the Skagit Sox 8-8. The game was called because both teams play in the Willamette Classic starting today.

The Yankees hit four homers in a 7-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners yesterday. Domingo German allowed just two hits in seven inning to get the victory. Marco Gonzalez gave up three homers and took the loss. The M’s and Yankees play again today, KLOG 3:00 pm…..The Bellingham Bells defeated the Cowlitz Black Bears 6-4 last night. The Bears have lost four straight and look to turn it around tonight against the Bells. Start time at Story Field is 6:35 pm…..Oregon State will try and stay alive at the College World Series in Omaha today. The Beavers take on North Carolina in a 4 pm elimination game…..In senior legion ball today, the Hilander Dental team hosts the Skagit Sox out of Mt. Vernon. The action begins at 4 pm at the R.A. Long Lumberyard.

Oregon State rallied after a four hour weather delay to defeat the Washington Huskies 14-5 at the NCAA College World Series in Omaha. The Huskies led 3-0 and 5-4 before the weather hit and OSU seemed rejuvenated by the long delay. OSU takes on either North Carolina or Mississippi State on Wednesday…..The Mariners begin a 10 game road trip today at the New York Yankees, KLOG 3:00 pm…..The Cowlitz Black Bears begin a five game home stand with the first of three against the Bellingham Bells tonight at Story Field. Game time is at 6:35 pm……The Seahawks announced that 12 training camp practice sessions will be open to the public. Free tickets will be on a first come, first served basis through their website seahawks.com beginning Thursday morning at 10 am.

Brooks Koepka takes the U.S. Open, the first back-to-back winner of the event in 29 years…..The Kelso Longview Chamber Golf Classic is today at Three Rivers…..The Red Sox beat the Mariners 9-3. The teams ended up splitting a four game series. Seattle has today off as they travel to New York for a three game set with the Yankees. The 10 game trip also has stops in Boston and Baltimore…..The Huskies and Beavers face each other in a loser out game at the College World Series in Omaha today at 11 am…..Corvallis defeated Cowlitz 6-1 Sunday. The Knights sweep the three game WCL series. The Bears have today off before hosting Bellingham tomorrow…..Washington beat Oregon 69– 54 in the Bud Clary War of the Border. Kelso went 3-2, MM 4-1 and RAL was 2-2.

The Boston Red Sox edged the Mariners 2-1 last night as David Price outdueled Felix Hernandez. James Paxton goes up against Rick Porcello tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..The Cowlitz Black Bears shutout the Highline Bears 6-0 in a non-league collegiate game last night. The Black Bears are back on the road at the Corvallis Knights tonight at 6:30 pm…..The Dave Orzel Haymaker Baseball tournament is underway. Last night Competitive Athletics blanked RBI 11-0…..The NCAA College World Series begins Saturday in Omaha. Oregon State plays North Carolina at 12 pm and the Huskies battle Mississippi State at 5 pm…..Prep boys basketball invades Longview-Kelso this weekend for the 26th Bud Clary War of the Border. Action begins tonight and runs through Sunday at gyms citywide.

Mitch Haniger hit a walk-off, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give the Mariners an 8-6 victory over the L.A. Angels. The M’s have won six of seven games are the Boston Red Sox come to Safeco Field for a four game set starting tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..The Black Bears have won four straight after completing a sweep at Port Angeles with a 7-5 victory last night. The Bears host the Highline Bears in a non-leaguer tonight, 6:35 pm at Story Field…..Washington and Oregon State arrived in Omaha yesterday to begin preparations for Saturday’s opening of the College World Series…..The New York Red Bulls defeated the Seattle Sounders 2-1 last night…..The Bud Clary War of the Border is this weekend with 64 teams on hand including Kelso, MM, RAL, Toledo and Toutle Lake.

The Mariners defeated the Angels 6-3 last night. Ryon Healy and Mitch Haniger had two homers each to back the pitching of Mike Leake. The M’s and Halos play a day game today, KLOG 6:00 pm…..The Cowlitz Black Bears rallied from four runs down to beat the Port Angeles Lefties 6-5 in 11 innings. The Bears go for the sweep when they play the Lefties in a game that starts at 4:35 pm…..Luke Brown went 4 for 5 to lead the Hilander Dental Senior Legion team to a 12-6 victory over RBI at the Lumberyard. Trey Hageman had three RBI’s and was the winning pitcher. HD plays the Portland Barbers in Hillsboro Friday night at 7 pm…..The 26th Bud Clary War of the Border boys summer high school basketball tournament gets under way Friday and runs all weekend.

The Mariners won for the ninth time in 11 games as they defeated the Angels 5-3. Nelson Cruz hit two homers to offset the two long balls from Mike Trout. The M’s and Halos play again tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..Travis Paynter of LCC was back in his home town last night pitching the Cowlitz Black Bears to a 4-3 win at Port Angeles. The Bears are now at 5-5 as they play at Port Angeles again tonight at 6:05 pm…..The Oregon State Beavers will open up the College World Series in Omaha Saturday with a game against North Carolina at 12 pm. The Washington Huskies will then play next in a 5 pm battle with Mississippi State. It’s the Dawgs first appearance in the classic event in Omaha…..In senior Legion baseball today, Hilander Dental takes on RBI at the R.A. Long Lumberyard at 6 pm.

The Washington Husky baseball team is going to the College World Series in Omaha for the first time ever. The Huskies beat Cal State Fullerton 6-5 in an epic 10 inning game. The Dawgs play Mississippi State in the opening round. Oregon State beat Minnesota Saturday to also qualify for Omaha…..Mitch Haniger threw out a runner at home plate to end the game, a 5-4 Mariner victory over Tampa Bay. The M’s take three of four from the Rays has they get ready to host the Angels tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..The Cowlitz Black Bears rallied from down 8-1 to beat the Kelowna Falcons 9-8 last night. The Bears take the series 2-1 and move on to Port Angeles for a game tonight at 6:05 pm…..Zach Brown of Wahkiakum was named the Offensive MVP of the All-State Series in Yakima.

The Mariners defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4 yesterday as Mike Leake pitched into the ninth inning. Mitch Haniger hit a homer and drove in three runs. The M’s and Rays play again tonight, KLOG 3:00 pm…..The NCAA baseball Super Regionals begin today including Washington at Cal State Fullerton (11 am) and Minnesota at Oregon State (2 pm)…..The Cowlitz Black Bears host the Kelowna Falcons tonight at 6:35 pm at Story Field. 50 percent of the proceeds of tickets ordered on-line will go to the LCC Foundation for scholarships……R.A. Long stars Alex Brady and Kaden Vanderwerf will be playing in the All-State Baseball Series Saturday in Yakima……The Portland Timbers host Sporting Kansas City tomorrow night (7:30 pm) at Providence Park.
