The Mariners are back home for a three game set with the Rangers, KLOG 6:00 pm…..The Blazers open the playoffs Sunday afternoon at Memphis, 4:05 pm on FM 101.5 The Wave…..The LCC baseball team hosts Green River at Story Field tomorrow, KLOG 12:55 pm…..The LCC softball team split two games at Chemeketa yesterday, winning 7-3 and losing 12-11. LCC plays a tourney at Yakima this weekend…..In prep baseball, Kelso beat Prairie 9-2, Mark Morris over Hudson’s Bay 5-4. Today, Kelso is at W.F. West, Woodland at Mark Morris and R.A. Long at Hockinson…..In softball, Kelso blasted River 11-2 and RAL beat Astoria 10-3. Today the Jills are at Ridgefield and MM hosts Washougal…..In boys soccer, Prairie edged Kelso 1-0. Today, RAL and MM are both at home.

The Trail Blazers begin the NBA playoffs this Sunday with a first round matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. Portland closed the regular season with a 114-98 loss at Dallas last night…..The Dodgers completed a three-game sweep over Seattle with a 5-2 win last night. The Mariners take today off before hosting Texas tomorrow…..The Columbia River baseball team defeated Kelso 8-2 yesterday. The Scots host Prairie today at 4 pm. Woodland beat R.A. Long 12-1 yesterday. Hockinson rallied to edge Mark Morris 4-3. The Monarchs host Hudson’s Bay today at 4 pm…..In softball, Kelso beat Fort 14-2 and Woodland beat R.A. Long 4-2. Kelso is at River today at 4 pm…..In boys soccer, RAL blasted Woodland 8-0. The Kelso soccer team hosts Prairie tonight at 7 pm.

Fernando Rodney gave up a two-run single in the 9th as the Dodgers rallied to beat the Mariners 6-5 last night. The M’s try and avoid the sweep tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..The Blazers close out the regular season at Dallas tonight, 4:05 pm on FM 101.5 The Wave…..LCC and Pacific split a baseball DH last night. The Boxers win 3-2 and the Devils win 11-5…..Big prep baseball showdown today as Kelso hosts Columbia River at 4 pm. Also, MM is at Hockinson and Woodland at RAL…..The LCC softball team plays Chemeketa in Salem today at 4 pm…..The Kelso softball team opened league play with a 9-3 win over Prairie. Also, Hockinson beat MM 11-3. Today, Woodland visits RAL…..Jonathan Jiminez scored three goals as Kelso beat Fort 4-2 in soccer. RAL hosts Woodland tonight at 6 pm.

The Dodgers defeated the Mariners 6-5 in 10 innings last night. Seattle lost despite four homers including two by Nelson Cruz. The teams play again tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..Oklahoma City kept its playoff hopes alive with a 110-98 win over the Trail Blazers last night. The Blazers close out the regular season at Dallas tomorrow night…..Manuel Cabrera hade two goals including the game winner in OT to lead R.A. Long to a 3-2 win over Mark Morris in boys soccer yesterday. Today, Kelso visits Fort Vancouver at 4 pm…..The Kelso track teams host Centralia today while MM is at Hockinson, both 4 pm…..Weather thwarted most of yesterday’s baseball and softball. The LCC home softball with Clackamas has been moved to Thursday. The LCC baseball team hosts Pacific at 4 pm today.

Nelson Cruz hit a 10th inning homer to give the Mariners an 8-7 victory over the Oakland A’s. Cruz homer came after Fernando Rodney gave up a four run lead in the 9th. The M’s play at the L.A. Dodgers tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..Kelso native Trevor May gets his first start of the season tonight as the Twins host the unbeaten K.C. Royals…..The LCC baseball team completed a weekend sweep over Grays Harbor with 11-1 and 5-1 wins on Sunday. The Devils are now 9-0 in the West Region…..In prep baseball today, Hudson’s Bay is at Mark Morris…..In softball, Kelso is at R.A. Long and Mark Morris at Rainier…..RAL visits Kelso in girls tennis today, weather permitting…..It’s a Civil War boys soccer matchup today as MM hosts RAL, 5 pm at Northlake Field.

Steph Curry was simply too hot for the Blazers to handle last night, scoring 44 points as he led the Golden State Warriors to a 116-105 win. Portland has tonight off, then they’ll be in SLC to take on the Jazz tomorrow night…..The Seattle Mariners travel to Oakland today, opening up a three-game series. Taijuan Walker makes his 2015 debut at tonight’s game, KLOG coverage at 6 pm…..Clatskanie got a 7-5 non-league baseball win over Astoria yesterday, while Pe Ell drubbed Winlock with 5-inning mercy rule wins in both ends of a DH, 21-2 and 16-1…..Oregon native Troy Polamalu is announcing his retirement after a Hall of Fame career in the NFL…..Jordan Spieth was one shot off the course record at Augusta yesterday, shooting an 8-under 64 in the Masters first round.

Albert Pujols moved into a tie for 18th place on the all-time HR list, hitting his 521st in leading the Angels to a 5-3 win over Seattle. The M’s finish the season-opening series 1-2. Seattle has tonight off, then will travel to Oakland for a weekend series starting tomorrow…..Lamarcus Aldridge led the way for Portland with 24 points and 13 rebounds, as they cruised to a 116-91 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Portland has only four games left in the regular season…..The LCC Lady Devils split a DH with Mt. Hood, losing 10-4 in the first game, then they bounced back with a dramatic 4-3, 9-inning win in the nightcap. Maggie Harshaw got the walk-off RBI to win the game….Mark Morris split a baseball DH with Clatskanie, 5-4 for the Tigers in the first game, 12-11 for MM in game 2.

The M’s drop to 1-1 on the season, after being held to just two hits in a 2-0 loss to the LA Angels. David Freece supplied all of the offense that the Angels needed, hitting a 2-run HR. Seattle and LA wrap up the three-game series tonight, KLOG coverage at 6 pm…..Yesterday was quite a day for Rainier’s Jessica Gibson, leading the way to 19-0, five-inning softball win over Astoria. Just a few hours after signing her LCC Letter of Intent, Gibson went 4-4 with two long HR’s and 4 RBI…..The Blazers are in the final stretch of the NBA regular season, with only five games left at they host the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the Moda Center. Catch the game on The Wave, 101.5, with the starting at 6:05 pm…..The Masters Par-3 Contest is being held today, the kickoff for the year’s first major.

King Felix opened the 2015 Major League season off in a dominating manner, striking out 10 and giving up only two hits as Seattle wins its debut game over the LA Angels 4-1. Seth Smith went 3-3 in his M’s debut, with a double, a triple and two RBI. Game two between Seattle and LA is tonight, KLOG coverage at 6 pm…..Brook Lopez dominated his twin brother, Robin, in last night’s makeup game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Trail Blazers, 106-96. This game was snowed out in late February…..Life Christian swept a baseball DH from Ilwaco, 14-4 and 17-6, while Seaside beat Clatskanie in softball 10-2. Today, Catlin Gabel and Oregon Episcopal come to Rainier for a track meet, while Clatskanie will travel out to the coast for a dual meet with Warrenton.

It’s Opening Day, with King Felix heading to the hill to kick things off for the 2015 campaign for the Seattle Mariners against the LA Angels. It’s the first home opener for Felix and the M’s in seven years, KLOG coverage starts at noon…..It was a good weekend for the LCC diamond sport teams; the Red Devils baseball team got a 10-7 win over Tacoma on Saturday, followed by a 11-0 mercy rule win over Green River. The Lady Devil softball team swept a pair from Clark on Saturday, 7-2 and 5-0…..The Blazers are in Brooklyn tonight, making up that “snow-out” game from earlier this season…..Wisconsin takes on Duke for the NCAA Men’s Basketball title tonight. Wisconsin had an upset 71-64 win over previously undefeated Kentucky, while Duke blew out Michigan State 81-61.
