The Mark Morris girls basketball team capped off an undefeated league championship with a 57-37 win over Woodland. Tonight, the Kelso Lassies close out the regular season with a game at Prairie…..The Kelso boys season came to an end with a 60-49 loss to Prairie. The MM boys have one more game before the playoffs at Woodland tonight…..Terrence Ross fueled a late comeback as the UW Huskies beat UCLA 71-69. WSU downed USC 60-53…..The LCC hoops team’s play at Grays Harbor tomorrow with the women at 6:30 pm and the men at 8:30 pm…..The Blazers road struggled continue as Sacramento beat Portland 95-92 last night…..The 3A District wrestling tourney begins today at Hudson’s Bay…..The State 3A/2A girls bowling tourney begins today in Tacoma.

The Blazers pounded the Bobcats 112-68 last night. Jamal Crawford led a balanced attack with 24 points. Portland is at Sacramento tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm…..The LCC men’s basketball team defeated Centralia 69-49 last night. The Centralia women’s team beat LCC 72-48. Both LCC teams will be at Grays Harbor Saturday in Aberdeen…..The Mark Morris boys beat Fort Vancouver 71-42 last night. The Kelso boys close out the season tonight at home against Prairie…..The MM girls can win the league title outright tonight with a win at home with Woodland…..Carlos Guillen, 36, is coming back to Seattle after eight years with the Detroit Tigers. The Mariners signed Guillen to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training.

Mark Morris took round two of the boys hoop Civil War with a 74-45 win over R.A. Long. MM will host Fort Vancouver in a make-up game tonight…..In girls play last night, Kelso defeated Hudson’s Bay 63-49 and MM beat Centralia 60-27…..LCC hosts Centralia in rivalry college hoops tonight. The women’s game is at 6 pm and the men’s game at 8 pm…..The Blazers are home tonight against the Charlotte Bobcats, KLOG 6:05 pm. Nicholas Batum will miss the game with a bruised knee…..Today is National Letter of Intent Signing Day and already the Huskies and Cougars have official paperwork returned with the hopes of improving their college football rosters. The Dawgs were surprised when DE Pio Vatuvei from California spurned USC and signed with Washington.

The Trail Blazers lost another road game last night, dropping a 93-89 game to the Utah Jazz…..Mark Morris defeated R.A. Long 70-29 in the girls Civil War basketball game last night. MM clinched at least a tie for the league title with the victory. Kelso hosts Hudson’s Bay in girls hoops tonight, KLOG 6:55 pm…..Tonight is the boys Civil War as Mark Morris hosts R.A. Long……With National Letter of Intent Signing Day tomorrow, the Washington Huskies received word last night that highly touted safety Shaq Thompson has committed to play for the Dawgs. Lakes OT Zach Banner announced yesterday he will attend USC…..Kris Boyd, the Scottish Premiere League all-time leading scorer has signed to play for the Portland Timbers.

Long girls play host to Mark Morris tonight…..The Kelso boys basketball team plays Hudson’s Bay in Vancouver tonight…..Gig Harbor native Kyle Stanley blew an eight shot lead and lost the Farmer’s Open at Torrey Pines to Brandt Snedeker on the second hole of sudden death…..Arik Armstead, the highly touted DL from California announced yesterday he will attend the University of Oregon. National Letter of Intent Signing Day is Wednesday…..The Safeco Field roof malfunctioned during Mariners Fan Fest yesterday. It didn’t dampen the spirits of M’s fans who showed up.

Golden State beat Portland in Oakland for the 12th time in 13 games. The final was 101-93. Portland returns home to play the Suns tomorrow night…..The LCC men’s basketball team snapped Tacoma’s 26 game league win streak with a 76-72 victory last night. The LCC women also upset Tacoma 53-48. Both Red Devil teams travel to Pierce Saturday night…..In boys prep hoops tonight, Kelso is at Columbia River, KLOG 6:55 pm…..In girls play tonight, R.A. Long is at Woodland and Hockinson visits Mark Morris…..The Mark Morris wrestling team captured the GSHL 2A title with a 39-25 win over R.A. Long. The Kelso wrestlers pounded Columbia River 76-5…..The UW men’s hoop team is at Arizona State tonight while the WSU Cougars are at Arizona. Gonzaga visits Portland.

Mariner fans hoping the team would land Prince Fielder are disappointed as the slugger agreed to a nine-year, $214 million contract with the Detroit Tigers…..The Blazers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 97-84 last night. Portland hosts a third game in three nights tonight against Golden State, KLOG 6:05 pm…..Tacoma comes to town for some college hoops against LCC with the women’s game at 6 pm and the men’s game at 8 pm…..In girls prep hoops last night, Kelso blasted Fort 65-25 and R.A. Long defeated Washougal 55-40…..In boys play, Fort beat Kelso 57-45 and Washougal downed RAL 65-57…..Civil War wrestling tonight as RAL hosts MM. Also, Columbia River is at Kelso…..Seahawks Marshawn Lynch, Kam Chancellor and Brandon Browner have been added to the Pro Bowl.

The LCC women also beat Green River 64-59 as Tiffany Tornow paced the Devils with 17. Both LCC teams host Tacoma Wednesday night…..In boys prep hoops tonight, Kelso is at Fort Vancouver and R.A. Long visits Washougal…..Same matchups in girls play as Kelso hosts Fort and Washougal at RAL…..The Mark Morris girls bowling team capped a perfect league title at 18-0 with a 2,154-1,963 win over Columbia River…..The MM wrestling team defeated Fort Vancouver 77-3.

Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly is staying in Eugene after he came close to agreeing to a deal to coach the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers……The Blazers host opponents for three games in three straight nights. California held off Washington 69-66 in Pac-12 men’s hoops. The WSU Cougars beat Stanford 81-69, Oregon State downed UCLA 87-84 and Oregon beat USC 65-62…..The Green River at LCC games were postponed and rescheduled for Monday…..In girls prep hoops, Mark Morris came up with a big win at Woodland 63-34 and Kelso defeated Mt. View 63-51. Tonight, MM is at Washougal and Hockinson at R.A. Long…..In boys play, MM beat Woodland 81-48 and Mt. View edged Kelso 57-52…..In wrestling, RAL beat Washougal 55-24. The Lumberjack Classic wrestling tourney is Saturday at RAL…..The Blazers are at Toronto today, KLOG 3:05 pm. Portland closes out its road trip at Detroit tomorrow…..The Mariners Caravan is at the LCC Gym today from 4 to 5:30 pm.
