One of the men involved in a high-speed chase and crash in Columbia County in January is being sentenced to two years of probation and 80 days in jail. The South County Spotlight also reported that Jonathan Walker, 23, of Florida is being directed to pay more than $28,000 in restitution, most of which will go to Hertz Rental Cars for damage done to one of their vehicles. Walker and Marcus Emmanuel Thomas, 27, were supposedly involved in a number of crimes in Columbia County, driving a rented Toyota Highlander when the chase and crash took place. Walker was injured in the crash, and was taken to the hospital; Thomas was arrested and booked into the Columbia County Jail, but was then released, due to a lack of available jail beds. He hasn’t been seen since. Walker was released from jail on March 4th, and is now serving his probation. Both men are suspected of being members of a Florida-based group called the “Felony Lane Gang,” and they had traveled to this area to commit thefts and other crimes.
