There’s another strong weather system poised to hit the region tonight and tomorrow. The Weather Service has a High Wind Warning in effect for the South Washington and North Oregon coast, starting at 10 pm tonight and running until 1 pm tomorrow. Winds are expected to pick up around midnight tonight, then the strongest winds are predicted to hit between 2 am and noon tomorrow. Sustained winds of 25 to 35 miles an hour are expected, with gusts of up to 70 miles an hour on the headlands. There’s also a Winter Storm Warning up for the Columbia River Gorge, along with South Washington and North Oregon Cascades. That starts at 7 pm tonight and runs until tomorrow night. Freezing rain, snow and sleet is possible in the Gorge, while another one to two feet of snow is possible in the mountains out of this system. Gusty winds are also expected. Be ready for extreme driving conditions if you’re heading west or east tonight.
