Posted on 30th March 2010 at 07:23

The commercial fishermen will be out on the Columbia River today, as the Columbia River Compact announces a 12-hour non-Indian commercial fishery that will run from noon until midnight today. The river will be open from the mouth to the I-205 bridge, with several sanctuaries set up near tributary river mouths. The commercial fishers will be allowed to use drift nets only, and are allowed a by-catch of five white sturgeon. Full details are available from Washington or Oregon Fish and Wildlife Departments.
