Starting today, and on the next two Fridays, Multnomah County will have Cornelius Pass Road closed for pavement repairs. A construction boom in the Hillsboro area has greatly increased the number of trucks using the road, which has caused the pavement to deteriorate rapidly. Cornelius Pass will be closed from Highway 30 to Skyline Boulevard, going from 7 am to 5 pm today; similar closures are planned on the 10th and the 17th, as well. Detours are being set up, while trucks are being diverted to the Sunset Highway and I-5. Local residents will be allowed access to the closed portion of the road, but they will need to prove residency. You will probably want to use alternate routes if you’re heading to Hillsboro today, or on the next two Fridays. More details are available on the Multnomah County website.
