Council Recognition

Posted on 29th May 2015 at 09:06

There was a lot of recognition on last night’s Longview City Council agenda, starting with the declaration of “Cody Wells Day.” This young man has shown his dedication to the City of Longview for almost his entire life, and is now preparing to move to Lewis County. Last night, the City Council declared May 28th as “Cody Wells Day,” noting his service to the city, particularly in his advocacy for the disabled. Wells says that it’s a tremendous honor. Along with the “Cody Wells Day” proclamation, official action was taken to name the Tom Hutchinson Soccer Complex at 7th Avenue Park, and the Council also accepted the donation of five Automated External Defibrillators from the Spencer’s HeartStrong Foundation. Those devices will be placed in patrol cars and at the police stations; Police Chief Jim Duscha says that it’s an “amazing donation,” and will give Longview Police Officers the ability to help save lives in critical situations.
