The Longview City Council will be talking about water quality and the EIS for the Millennium Bulk Terminals coal project in a workshop that’s planned for this evening. The meeting starts at 6 pm tonight, and has been moved from the Training Room to the City Council Chambers. The workshop will open with a briefing of the city’s water system quality evaluation. Last week, the Council had directed staff to begin immediate analysis and development of options for dealing with water quality issues, after hearing a series of horror stories since the changeover to the Mint Farm water supply. Following that briefing and discussion, the Council is scheduled to discuss possible comments for the scoping process on the state and federal EIS documents for the Millennium project. This evening’s meeting is open to the public.
