Mark Alan Thomas, 39, of Oregon City is due back in court on Tuesday of next week, as Multnomah County authorities seek an indictment in connection with a fatal car crash near Scappoose on the 18th of this month. It’s claimed that Thomas was under the influence of meth, marijuana and Xanax when he drifted across the center median on Highway 30, crashing into a car driven by Wayne Harvey McCormick of Scappoose. McCormick died at the scene, while Thomas was seriously injured. On Monday of this week, Thomas was brought to the Portland Justice Center, for arraignment on charges of second-degree manslaughter and DUI. Thomas continues to be held in the Multnomah County Jail on bail of more than $250,000, while prosecutors seek an indictment in the case.
