An investigation into the reported theft of a commercial crawfish trap led to the arrest of two men on outstanding warrants. Deputies were called to the 84 hundred block of Willow Grove Road at about 6:20 yesterday evening, when a commercial crawfish harvester called 911, saying that one of his traps may have been stolen. He also claimed that he found the rope from the trap lying on the ground next to a car that was parked in the area. Two men that were on the scene denied having any involvement in the theft, but both were found to have arrest warrants. Joel Thomas Malone, 28, was found to have two no-bail warrants for recreational fishing violations, along with a $500 warrant for driving while suspended. Anthony Lewis Dean Masterson, 24, of Longview also had a driving while suspended warrant. Both men are now being held in the Cowlitz County Jail. At this time, the men are not being connected to the theft of the crawfish trap.
