Woodland Police are investigating a death that was reported yesterday afternoon at the Lewis River Inn. Officers went to the motel at about 1 pm yesterday, after motel employees reported that two women had come to the facility, claiming that their brother was there, trying to kill himself. Officers arrived and went to the room that had been rented by Michael O’Doherty, 46, of Vancouver; they found him dead inside the room. They say that it looks like he had been dead for several hours prior to their arrival, but there were no signs of violence or foul play. O’Doherty had last been seen this past Saturday, at the home of a relative. On Sunday, he was listed as a missing or endangered person by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. They say that O’Doherty had left a suicide note at the relative’s home on Saturday, and a similar note was found in the motel room. They say that it looks like he may have overdosed on prescription drugs; an autopsy is planned, with toxicology tests pending.
