A crewman from a ship at the Weyerhaeuser log docks is recovering from a hip injury that he received in a fall that took place yesterday morning. Longview Fire crews were called to Gate 1 at the Weyerhaeuser facility around 8:30 yesterday morning, when it was reported that a man had fallen into one of the holds on the ship. It’s reported that the unidentified crewman had fallen some six to eight feet, and was lying between some logs in the hold. It took about a half-hour to get the man stabilized and then lifted out of the hold; he was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center for treatment. The man’s condition has not been updated this morning.
