Casey Jay Banks, 33, of St. Helens is in the Cowlitz County Jail, accused of stealing narcotics from St. John Medical Center late last week. In today’s Daily News, they say that Banks came into the Emergency Department on Friday, gave a fake name, then asked to be treated for an undisclosed malady. It’s reported that Banks was given a sedative called “Propoful,” with a partially-filled syringe left on the table in Banks’ treatment room. Hospital officials say that Banks asked for some privacy, and when a nurse returned, she reportedly caught Banks putting the rest of the sedative into his IV bag. Banks reportedly told Longview Police that he’s addicted to painkillers, and had used the last of his drugs earlier in the day. He that he concocted the fake name and condition to obtain more drugs. Banks is now being held in the Cowlitz County Jail on a drug charge, with initial bail set at $25,000.
