Allen David Proshold, 44, of Longview is under arrest after a domestic violence incident reported yesterday afternoon in West Longview. A few minutes before 5 pm, Longview Police were called to the parking lot of a bar in the 3200 block of Ocean Beach Highway, where a woman was screaming for help. A van was seen leaving the lot, then was spotted a few minutes later, parked in front of a home in the 2400 block of 34th Avenue. The male driver was seen going into the back yard, while the woman was screaming that she had been attacked. Officers got the 37 year-old woman away; she claims that the man, later identified as Proshold, had strangled and sexually assaulted her. A perimeter was set up around the house, and police used public address announcements to try and get Proshold to surrender. There was no response from inside the residence, and then a check of the back yard found Proshold hiding underneath a tarp. He was arrested without incident at about 5:40 pm. Along with the felony assault and rape charges, Proshold is charged with driving while suspended, and he’s also being served with a no-bail Department of Corrections warrant.
