Lewis County law enforcement went out on a domestic violence crackdown yesterday, with nearly three dozen officers from eight different agencies were involved in the sweep, attempting to serve nearly 200 warrants. The police departments of Toledo, Winlock and Napavine were involved in the sweep, along with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Corrections and the police departments from Morton, Chehalis and Centralia. The sweep started at 7:30 yesterday morning and continued until midnight, resulting in ten arrests. During the sweep, it was learned that a large number of the suspects had moved out of the area. Lewis County officials say that they will now be coordinating with other police agencies to locate and arrest suspects, in cases where their addresses are known.
