Cowlitz County Deputies say that they were able to safely arrest a man who had armed himself and was reportedly ready to shoot law enforcement officers that were responding to a domestic violence incident that took place last night at a home west of Longview. Around 11 pm, a woman called 911, reporting that she had been involved in a physical dispute with Miguel Angel Milian, 30. The woman also claimed that he was out on the porch, armed with a semi-automatic rifle, planning to shoot any law enforcement personnel that responded. Deputies carefully approached the home, and confirmed that Milian was out on the porch with a rifle. Additional resources were called in, including the State Patrol and the Lower Columbia SWAT armored vehicle. Deputies were able to get the woman and two other people safely out of the house. After setting up a perimeter, a negotiator approached the home at about 11:50 pm, and was able to get Milian to give himself up without incident. He’s now being held on a charge of fourth-degree assault, but it’s possible that other charges could be filed.
