Kenneth Kemp, 36, of Silver Creek is once again under arrest, after the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reportedly found out that the registered sex offender was trying to obtain guns through listings on Facebook. Chief Deputy Stacy Brown says that they got a tip that a convicted felon was trying to trade items for guns through Facebook. Undercover detectives made contact with Kemp, and set up a deal to trade sporting goods and electronics for a semi-automatic rifle. Kemp reportedly showed the items he planned to trade, and then was shown the rifle. After he handled and inspected the gun, Kemp was arrested on a charge of second-degree unlawful possession of a gun, and will also be charged with driving while suspended. Brown says further investigation shows that Kemp had made numerous postings on Facebook classifieds, attempting to obtain or trade items for firearms.
