The Red Cross is assisting three women and two children that had their home destroyed by fire yesterday morning on Fern Hill Road near Rainier. The fire was reported at a mobile home park outside of Rainier at about 7:45 yesterday morning. The women and the children were all able to escape safely, but the mobile home and its contents were a total loss, including all of the Christmas presents that they had exchanged the day before. The cause of the fire is not yet known, nor is there a dollar estimate on damage. The Red Cross is helping out with temporary shelter, clothing, food and other necessities. The names of the people involved haven’t yet been released.
