A meeting on sustainable forest roads is planned for this evening at the Gifford Pinchot National Forest Headquarters in Vancouver. Forest Service officials say that they’re trying to reach out to concerned citizens on this topic, working over the past year to understand the information that was gathered in community meetings and through a questionnaire that was conducted last fall. Community Engagement Staff Officer Tracy Calizon says that it’s time to share what they learned, and to validate their findings. Calizon says that they’ll also be updating the overall Travel Management Planning process, and will highlight how people can stay involved in the process. This evening’s meeting will run from 6 to 8 pm at the Forest Headquarters in Vancouver, along with video links in Randle, Stevenson and Amboy. The public questionnaire will be available on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest website through April 30th.
