It’s Free Fishing Weekend in both Washington and Oregon. No license is needed to fish or gather shellfish anywhere in Washington and Oregon. In addition, no vehicle access pass or Discover Pass is needed to park at any of the Fish and Wildlife-managed access sites all across the state. The State of Oregon is also allowing free camping at any state park. This includes all tent and RV sites at parks all across the state of Oregon, offered in connection with State Parks Day. While you can fish for free this weekend, you will still need to observe bag limits, size restrictions and season closures, and you’ll also be required to fill out catch record cards for salmon, steelhead and halibut that are caught over the weekend. Your local outfitter has more details on the entire weekend.
