Starting tonight, you’ll need to be aware of a speed limit reduction on the northbound freeway just south of Woodland. Starting at 9:30 pm this evening, the northbound freeway speed limit will be reduced to 60 miles an hour, as painting work on the East Fork Lewis River Bridge kicks into high gear. The Washington Department of Transportation says that the speed limit reduction will help to improve safety for workers as they install containment tarps and start the painting work on the structure. Along with the speed cut-down, you can also expect daytime single-lane closures, nighttime double-lane closures and lane shifts as this work proceeds. This reduction will remain in place until the winter weather returns. This project is expected to last into fall of 2016.
