Joanne Polinder, 70, of Battle Ground faces a date in traffic court, cited for driving too fast for the conditions after a Friday morning crash on SR 502. Around 11:30 Friday morning, Polinder was westbound on SR 502, about two miles west of Battle Ground; State Troopers say that she failed to observe another car stopped to make a turn, and ended up clipping the bumper of an SUV driven by Lyn Schmitz, 22, of Woodland. Polinder’s car came to rest in the ditch; she was taken to Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital to be treated for injuries she received in the crash. Schmitz and a passenger were not hurt. Troopers blame the crash on speed and driver inattention.
