The Go 4th Festival continues today, with the Flea Market opening at 10 am, the Longview Firefighters Floating Hole-in-One, and live music from 1 to 10 pm at Martin’s Dock. Today’s headline event is the Longview Pioneer Lions “Spirits of Longview” Beer Garden, running from 5:30 to 11 pm at the Cowlitz County Expo Center. Along with fine wines and craft beers from the local area, they’re going to have great food and live music from the King Brothers. Looking ahead to tomorrow, you’ve got the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at 8 am, the Timber Carnival, the Parade at 10 am, and the Longview Pioneer Lions Kids Races at R. A. Long High School, starting at noon. There’s live entertainment at Martin’s Dock all day long, leading up to the fireworks display over the lake at about 10 pm. Longview Police plan to be conducting traffic control after the fireworks are over, directing traffic to Ocean Beach Highway, Tennant Way and 15th Avenue, or to the Civic Center. Pedestrians will also be encouraged to use major intersections, which will be staffed with police officers, and the Hemlock Footbridge will be one-way after the fireworks, until the lake bank is substantially cleared.
