Graffiti Spree

Posted on 31st December 2010 at 08:36

Longview Police continue work to try and track down the person or persons responsible for a large number of graffiti incidents all around the city. On Tuesday of this week, 13 addresses in the 200 blocks of Cypress and Baltimore were hit with “gang-type” graffiti, then yesterday, there were two separate sprees reported. Shortly after 2 pm, eleven addresses in and around the 1400 and 1500 blocks of 9th and 10th were hit, along with spots on Broadway, Maple and Michigan Streets. Around 5:30 pm, nine addresses in the 500 block of 16th and 17th were vandalized, then shortly before 11 pm, the McClelland Arts Center was hit by vandalism. No suspects have been identified, but Longview Police say that these seem to be gang-type incidents, possibly involving two different groups. They advise residents to paint over or remove the graffiti as soon as possible. If you have information on who might be involved, you can call the LPD Tip Line at 442-5929, or leave an anonymous tip on the CrimeStoppers Hotline at 577-1206.
