Longview Police are working to find the man that robbed the Hemlock Store at gunpoint last night. The store clerk called 911 just before 9:30 pm, claiming that a man armed with a “big revolver” had just robbed the place. The clerk says that the man came in and asked if they had change for a 50; when the clerk opened the till, the suspect pulled his gun, stuck it in the clerk’s face and demanded all of the cash from the register. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran off, heading into a nearby alley between Hemlock and Garfield. The clerk reported that they recognized the suspect as a regular customer, and police were able to identify the man after reviewing the store’s security video. They checked the area, even stopping one man at gunpoint around 11:30 pm. That man was released after they determined he wasn’t the suspect. The effort to find the suspect is continuing.
