An investigation is under way after a Highlands-area resident showed up at St. John Medical Center with a stab wound to his hand. Longview Police say that the victim called 911 at about 6:45 am, saying that he was stabbed after he confronted the suspect after the man allegedly kicked his dog. The victim says that his dog had gotten loose, and apparently bit the stabber. The victim says that the suspect was last seen running off along the dike in the 200 block of 21st and 22nd Avenues. The victim was able to provide some information on the description of the suspect, but Longview Police have not reported making any contact with that person.
