For good or for bad, the historic Monticello Hotel in Longview will be on national TV tonight, as season 2 of Gordon Ramsay’s “Hotel Hell” goes into its second week. Earlier this year, the hotel was shut down for about a week as crews taped the before, during and after aspects of the building’s renovation. In the preview summary on the show’s website, this episode is described as covering “a 90 year-old Pacific Northwest landmark hotel, run by a millionaire struggling to come to terms with his alcohol addiction.” Preview clips on the website also show “the black light test,” illustrating to staff how dirty the rooms actually are. There’s a clip called “heavy burdens,” highlighting the issues of alcohol abuse, Ramsay criticizes the menu in “the tower,” and “classic car show” goes over the display of owner Phil Lovingfoss’ cars in the parking lot. “Hotel Hell” airs at 9 pm tonight on Fox 12, KPTV in Portland.
