Slick roads are said to have been a factor in a couple of car crashes reported yesterday. Around 5:35 pm, a two-car crash was reported at Beebe Road and West Side Highway near Castle Rock. The southbound lane of the highway was closed for a short time after the collision. The 77 year-old male driver of one of the cars involved was checked out after he reported that he had hit his head. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the roads were icy at the time of this collision.
A few minutes after 9 pm, Deputies and aid crews were called to the 300 block of Rose Valley Road, where a car had crashed into a ditch. The female driver of that car was checked out by paramedics after she complained of head and arm pain after the crash. Deputies say that speed and weather were both factors in the crash. The driver was cited and released. The injuries in both crashes were said to be minor.
