The Clatsop County District Attorney says that Jennifer Ann Livingston, 46, of Warrenton was justified in shooting and killing her estranged husband earlier this year, an incident that took place at her apartment back on May 7th. Authorities say that Bruce Ross Rogers, 39, of Astoria had broken into Livingston’s apartment; she had retreated to a locked bedroom with her two teenage daughters and the boyfriend of one of the daughters. While on the phone with 911 dispatchers, she shot and killed Rogers after he had forced his way into that bedroom. In April, Rogers was arrested for a domestic disturbance, and had been under a court order to have no contact with Livingston or her residence. District Attorney Josh Marquis says that it’s clear that Rogers was a dangerous man, and that Livingston was justified in using deadly force to protect herself and the other people in her home.
