The Kelso School District is announcing three names as finalists for the Superintendent position, with all three of those people coming in from out of state. Dr. Peter Ansingh currently works for the Iowa Department of Education as an Education Program Consultant in the area of Teacher Leadership. Glen Gelbrich is the Superintendent of Schools in Juneau, Alaska, but also has extensive experience in several Oregon school districts. Dr. Michelle Johnstone is the current Superintendent of Schools in Brush, Colorado, a small town in the northeastern part of the state. Interviews with each of the finalists are set for next Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The Kelso School Board has a goal of naming a successor to Rob MacGregor on May 28th, with hopes that the replacement will be able to take the job on July 1st. MacGregor is resigning at the end of the school year, with a goal of getting an education job in the Puget Sound area.
