More than 700 Cowlitz PUD customers in North Kelso lost power Tuesday night, when a crossarm broke on a power pole on North 1st Avenue. The outage hit at about 5:45 Tuesday night; 911 callers reported seeing sparks in the lines behind the EconoLodge Motel, and then the power went off. The outage affected a large swath of north Kelso, also extending up Cowlitz Way, and even a portion of downtown Kelso. 741 customers were affected. 295 of those customers were back on by 6:25, and then power was fully restored a little after 8 pm.
