As the Cowlitz PUD Commission looks for the furor surrounding the censure resolution against Ned Piper to die down, others are taking aim at the sitting Commissioners. At Tuesday’s meeting, Loren Sievila of Kalama announced that he’s filed the paperwork to run for the PUD Commission seat now held by Buz Ketcham. Sievila says that Ketcham has done his duty, and now it’s time to move on…sievila…Sievila says that he has 30-plus years of experience in the power industry, both in the public and private sector. His resume lists experience at a variety of positions in the power generation industry, including management positions with PacifiCorp, North American Energy Services and Puget Sound Energy. Sievila will run in Cowlitz PUD Commission 1, which covers the south end of Cowlitz County. Ketcham current six-year term runs out at the end of next year. About a month ago, Castle Rock farmer Mike Kayser announced his intention to run for the seat now held by Piper, which will come up for election in 2016.
