A day-long conference on early childhood development and education is planned for tomorrow at R. A. Long High School. The second annual “Infant Through 3rd-Grade Conference is open to teachers, parents, students, child car providers and early learning professionals, providing several opportunities for participants to lean skills that will support childhood development. Some of the workshops include Literacy and Language for kids from birth to kindergarten, Music and Movement for the preschool to 3rd-grade transition, use of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System, Adverse Childhood Experiences and other topics. Amy Speidel will be the keynote speaker, talking about the topic of “Conscious Discipline.” Registration starts at 8 am tomorrow at R. A. Long High School; there is a fee to attend, but participants will also be able get continuing education and certification credits. Call 442-2840 for more information.
