Billy Sahlinger lost a no-hitter with two outs in the 8th, but he was dominant in the Cowlitz Black Bears 4-0 win over the Kitsap Blue Jackets last night. Sahlinger lowered his ERA to 2.06, third in the WCL. The Bears are home for a three game set with Bend. First pitch tonight at Story Field is 6:35 pm….The Longview Babe Ruth 13-year-old All-Stars opened State tournament play with an 11-1 victory over the host Camas/Washougal team yesterday. Joey Tripp tossed a complete game two-hitter. Longview plays Kennewick at 10 am then turns around for a 7 pm game against Richland…..At the ESPY’s last night, the Seattle Seahawks were named the team of the year and Richard Sherman was honored as the breakout performer of the year.
