Oregon State Police report that six people are recovering from injuries that took place in a two-car crash yesterday afternoon on Highway 30, about ten miles east of Astoria. The crash took place around 4:10 pm, when a westbound pickup driven by a 70 year-old female crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a an eastbound Volvo with five people inside. The pickup driver was ejected and was seriously injured; the 24 year-old male driver of the Volvo was also seriously injured in the collision. Both have been taken to hospitals in Portland. The other two adults and two children that were in the Volvo were taken to other local hospitals. The highway was closed to traffic for about four hours after the crash. The names of the people involved will be released some time later today.
