You may see quite a bit of police activity at Lower Columbia College today, but nothing bad is going on. Multiple local law enforcement and fire agencies are taking part in a “threat response drill” at the college. LCC Director of Safety and Security Casey Tilton says that this exercise has been in the planning stage for the past six months, and is NOT related to the mass shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington, D. C. earlier this week. Tilton says that LCC is committed to the safety and security of the campus and the community, and he says that this drill is part of that continuing effort to ensure safety. If you have questions or concerns, contact Tilton’s office at 442-2270.
